Se han dado a conocer los finalistas de los Premios Hugo de este año. En la presente edición se ha batido el record de nominaciones válidas, 1923. Los ganadores se anunciarán durante la Loncon de Londres el 17 de agosto

Puede llamar la atención la presencia de “La Rueda del Tiempo”. Se trata de una edición nueva con todos los volúmenes, 12 escritos por Jordan y 3 por Brandon Sanderson. Esta edición cumple con las normas del Premio. Los fans de la serie han hecho una campaña masiva para lograr la nominación.
